Extraordinary display of the Temminck's tragopan pheasant
The Temminck's tragopan can be found in central China, northern Myanmar and the mountains of northeast India. The birds, a type of pheasant, begin breeding by around two years of age.
The male has beautiful and striking display features including a large area of blue facial skin, and inflatable lappet (decorative flap). The bird is common throughout its natural range.
