About David

David Quimpo has served as a conservation specialist for the Haribon Foundation since 2012. In this role, he helps draft policies at both local and national levels and trains community-based forest protection teams.

Background

David Quimpo works with Haribon Foundation and leads a project on Panay Island. He was a Conservation Leader Fellow for the EDGE species program of the Zoological Society of London, in partnership with National Geographic.

Protecting the Dulungan is particularly special to David, as it was the first species he worked on at Haribon. His efforts began in areas with limited studies and continued after a powerful typhoon in 2013 that severely damaged forest habitats on Panay Island.
