About BirdLife Tasmania
Background
BirdLife Tasmania is the State Branch of BirdLife Australia, supporting bird awareness and conservation.
Covering all of Tasmania, including its offshore islands, Birdlife Tasmania holds regular outings and conducts a number of ongoing bird surveys.
Birdlife Tasmania's activities range from a program of regular informal birding excursions, through meetings with high quality guest speakers, to long-term scientific observations. Among their most important work are long-term summer and winter wader counts around the state, waterfowl counts at the key habitat, Moulting Lagoon, and the south-east winter gull count.
Birdlife Tasmania also conduct regular birdwatching outings to interesting locations which support various different habitats.
